I love this – it’s really beautiful (I’m going to have to get the thesaurus out for some fresh superlatives!). I love the colours – green and purple together are favourites of mine, and I really like the abstract – painterly – effect. Excellent.
The first thing that came to my mind is from a painting by Henri Matisse: “The Dance”. I fancy that I can see some of the dancers in this image. Really beautiful!
thanks Lu – how nice! I am thinking of shooting a series of images of this ilk with nothing in focus for reference…. going totally “abstract” but not sure if it would work… might just look like I can’t focus. LOL…
This photograph is beautiful. It seems to have movement of colour and light. Our eye change focus imperceptibly fast and a shallow depth of field is magical. It really only exists in photographs and in our mind.
My favorite color combo is purple and green and I’m a big fan of abstract photography and nature. In other words, this strikes me on so many of my favorite levels Sheila.

thanks Meanderer, beautiful is a fine word and I appreciate your comments! As you know, I love playing with depth of field… and of course colour.

thanks Sam! Magical is a good way of putting it since our focus can be fleeting. A shallow depth of field changes the look of anything.
Lovely colours, very relaxing.
Thanks.
thanks Hallysann! Purple is one of my fave colours.
I love this composition! The colors and contrasts are just beautiful!
thanks sunsetseasoul!
