Ornamental grasses are very popular where I live. They are hardy and look really nice. This is a patch my neighbours have in their front garden with the late afternoon light creating glowing plumes.

European Barberry
European Barberry grows wild in Ontario. Also called Berberis vulgaris the large shrub seen here lives at Medway Creek in London. In the spring it has clusters of yellow flowers and in fall it has red berries and brightly coloured leaves.
