Red and White Tulips

These pretty tulips sat on the counter at the market's coffee shop. Light from large windows gives them a nice glow.

Waterbeads

A view at the Western Fair Market, upstairs where all the interesting art, antiques, crafts and chachka are found - close on a glass jar containing colourful "waterbeads."

Lilac branches in winter

Small drops of ice catch the light on my lilac tree's bare winter branches. Those buds are just waiting for spring.

Colourful Korean dresses

I attended a Heritage Day event yesterday at the school where my sister teaches. She set up a day where her students - from all over the world - could demonstrate things about their heritage. A group of Korean ladies, dressed in their traditional clothing, performed a song. What colour!

Bird Tracks in the snow

What looks like duck or goose tracks, cross down a flight of stairs next to the Thames River where boats are launched in warmer weather.

Dogwood stalks

Reddish Dogwood growing by the creek seems to be reflected but it is another similar plant.

Light on Snowy Field

A section of untouched, windswept snow covered field reflects the bright, late afternoon sun. The camera picks up the sparkles and shadows as well as the different hues of blue.

Backlit broken sumac branches

The late afternoon sun catches the hairy sumac branches. Last winter, a terrible ice storm damaged all the sumac in this particular area of Medway Creek. They are coming back - a hardy native tree - but many broken branches remain.

Branches reflecting in a puddle

Early Friday morning when I let the dog out, I noticed the pink and blue sky reflecting in a puddle. Always a welcome sight - ice melting - it was a glorious +10 degree day (50° F) that gave hope of an early spring.

Yellow and orange tulips on my windowsill give hope that soon these lovely flowers will abound outside!
