thank you… they sure do have cool bark. I find the grey, cloudy skies although may reveal more detail just look flat – always nice to have the blue to make it pop.
I’ve never seen a sycamore anywhere. But now that I know what to look for I will keep an eye open for them when out on excursions. I use the wood to make bagpipes and mostly for baby rattles because the wood is spectacular to look at, is tightly grained and finishes lovely. I have a friend who uses the wood exclusively to make very expensive Bassoons which he sells to professional musicians worldwide. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive to buy.
