Cedar tree roots

The roots of a very old cedar tree look like an entrance into another world. Located at Coldstream Conservation Area, I love to photograph this amazing tree.

Gold Flame Spirea

New leaves on the Gold Flame Spirea are lit up by the late afternoon sun. Also called Spiraea japonica or Spiraea x bumalda 'Goldflame,' this shrub is one of the most colourful and hardy in my garden. In spring, its leaves emerge a bright red and fade to yellow for the summer.

Chestnut Branch

Happy Earth Day! I took this image a few years ago in an Italian garden on a very hot June day. Its leafy greenness struck me as so incredibly beautiful.

Coco Cola-esque graffiti

Some new, very artistic graffiti in an alley south off King Street bears a striking resemblance to an old Coca Cola wall advertisement.
