Gosh – this is a really striking photo. I, too, love the contrast between old and new and I also like the steel-blue colour which links the two buildings giving a feeling of harmony. I also like the interesting lines.
I’m a great lover of architecture – particularly Puginesque Gothic – but I haven’t photographed any yet. You give me a lot to aspire to Sheila!

I really like architectural images like this, Sheila. The juxtaposition of the old against the contemporary is fascinating. Ellen Yeates created a similar image in San Francisco http://www.flickr.com/photos/eyeates/5479457182/ but I think your image has a lot more impact.
