Catalpa Leaves

Catalpa Leaves

I learned about the Northern Catalpa tree last week at a friend's who has one shading her deck with these huge leaves. They are beautiful, fast-growing trees with large heart-shaped leaves, orchid-like flowers and long seed pods in the fall.

  1. Beautiful composition. Love the textures and colours. My folks had a catalpa tree – Brings back memories. We can not grow them here in Elliot Lake, they will not survive the winters.

  2. Thank you sharing the wonderfully shot photo and telling us the tree’s name. When I was a child, knowing the names of trees was like knowing the names of the vegetables on my plate. Now I live where there are so many trees I don’t yet know by name!
