Trumpeter Swan

Trumpeter Swan

Before I tell you about today's image, I would like to say I have reached a milestone - 50,000 views. Since November 14, 2009 I have posted 621 images - one each day - this is image 622. I love taking pictures for this blog and I am grateful that so many people take the time to check them out - Thank You!

This image is of The Trumpeter Swan Sculpture in the Midland, Ontario Harbour that I took a few days ago. Created by artist Ron Hunt and erected in 2001 by the Town of Midland, it honours North America’s largest waterfowl the Trumpeter Swan, considered an endangered species in the 1980s. Thanks to the efforts of the Wye Marsh, their population has been nurtured back to health.

  1. Well done Sheila on your 50,000 views! Your excellent work is enjoyed by very many and is certainly an inspiration to me – and has been since I started blogging a couple of months ago. Your daily posting – for almost 2 years!! – is also inspiring and encouraging.

This is a wonderful shot of a very beautiful sculpture and is a good choice to mark a milestone! So, here’s to the next 50,000 views ………

    • Thanks very much Meanderer – the schedule feature sure helps for when I’m away ha ha… I really appreciate your lovely comments and interest in my photographs. I think it is so neat that there is a group of us photogs/writers who regularly check out and support each other’s work – that’s the true magic of WordPress, the internet and creativity!

  2. Great going Sheila! May your next set of numbers double in half the time! Your posts are fantastic… looks like the area where you live leads to progressive art and thought! Keep it up… you sure put a smile on faces! πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰
