August Sunflower Posted on August 14, 2011 by Sheila Creighton Posted in Flowers Tagged petals, photography, sunflower, yellow 22 Comments My neighbour recently gave me a bouquet of sunflowers - I looked after their cat while they were on holiday. Of course I took this opportunity to photograph these huge, happy flowers. Share this:ShareFacebookEmailTwitterPinterestLinkedInTumblrLike this:Like Loading... Related
I didn’t know august sunflower.I always see it during the hot summer.
thanks cocomino – the August part is just my title because by now they are in bloom everywhere.
A very “happy” flower! Very nice.
thanks Joleen – can’t help but smile!
Great color and texture!
thank you Jeremy. thanks for stopping by!
This is lovely. Sunflowers are so beautiful. I like the way you’ve composed this so that there are three arcs of colour.
thanks Meanderer – set it up so the bg was green this time!
How pretty! That green background compliments the yellow so nicely! 🙂
thanks Holly – they are such bright cheery flowers.
Oh yes, I like that, that’s really lovely. The textures of the petals( oh those petals!)and the brown whatever-they-are’s in the flower’s centre provide a real contrast to each other – and the plain green background fits the rest of the picture absolutely perfectly. Excellent! Just out of interest, does this picture look the same (or worse or better) if horizontally reversed ie so that the green background is on the right? Good stuff! Adrian
thanks – they are really pretty petals – so many tones of yellow. I flipped it to see what you were asking… to me it looks about the same but I guess it would be a personal preference.. I am left handed so maybe that makes difference?
Wow, the texture and colour in this close up is simply astonishing. Wonderful shot!
thank you cameravagrant – and a tip of the hat to good old mother nature for supplying the inspiration.
Gorgeous! The POV is great. 🙂
Great composition! I love how intensely yellow the sunflower is.
thanks so much!
Beautiful. Nothing shouts summer quite like a sunflower does it. 🙂
yes it sure does – thanks Hallysann. 😛
I love the tone of color on this one!! 🙂
thanks very much title003!
