Spectral Colours

Spectral Colours

A small prism in a suncatcher that hangs in my kitchen window refracts the morning sunlight onto a table. At just the right angle you get these intense colours. I’ve tried several times to capture these colourful sparkles on the walls and cabinets however they have always had too soft a focus. Here, the wood grain on the table allows for a sharper focus.

Homage to van Gogh

Homage to Van Gogh

A graffiti mural in a back alley on King Street in London pays tribute to painter Vincent van Gogh’s painting The Starry Night. Van Gogh painted his well-known work in 1889 and it is now housed in MOMA’s permanent collection. I bet van Gogh would actually be chuffed that he inspired such street art.

Urban Inspiration

Urban Inspiration

Call me crazy but the reflection in this back alley mud puddle with the overhead shadow of a fire escape seemingly coming out of the stairway reflection straight ahead reminds of M. C. Escher’s mathematical art work. Imagine the look if someone saw me taking photos of a mud puddle!
