A beautiful, variegated poinsettia adds colour to the holiday season. The Poinsettia is a member of the spurge family and indigenous to Mexico and Central America.
It’s a beautifully colourful bract, and brings some colour to your winter days. A pity it is a product of a greenhouse or airfreight. In Australia, the nursery industry chemically treats them, to keep them compact and to regulate their flowering time. Kinda puts me off them….pity us humans can’t leave things as they are meant to be. 🙂
it is a huge seasonal flower for local greenhouses and garden centres to grow – I don’t have a problem with that but am not aware of chemical treatments so I’ll ask around and see what they tell me.
