Anyone who has followed my blog for a while knows how much I like taking photos of water and ice on windows. I do find it interesting that these images can look so different especially when you change the background.

This is a lichen named Candleflame that grows on a tree outside my work. Apparently, it is a sign of good air quality and it does not harm its host but enjoys a symbiotic relationship.

A late day view along the Thames River in London, Ontario. I’m pretty sure this is a Black Willow – Salix falcata – a tree that loves wet areas. There are many willows growing along the floodplain of this large river.

The sun rises on a very cold day in Ontario – well pretty much the whole country and the northern US of A. My fingers almost froze within minutes of being outside without gloves yesterday morning but I think it was worth it.
