Imagery of Light 
These look remarkably like the blooms on an invasive tree that grows here called salt cedar. The color and form of this one is quite pretty.

Nope. I stayed put, and we had no effects at all. If the storm had been a hundred miles farther west, it would have been horrid, but as it was, we were lucky. Even my friends in Louisiana made it through without a power loss; their levee held, and all is well for them, too. Other parts of Louisiana are truly suffering.
Glad you are okay – dangerous and strange living in a hurricane zone!
