Bee and Sweet Pea

Collecting pollen, a bee lingers on a sweet pea - Lathyrus latifolia. Native to Europe, sweet peas are naturalized all over North America. You can see why the flower's structure is called papilionaceous - meaning like a butterfly.

Tansy and Bee

Tansy, Tanacetum vulgare, is a wildflower native to Europe. This bright perennial attracts bees and butterflies.

Seen in wild areas, it is considered noxious by many. Its name comes from the Greek for “immortality.”
