Steamy Daylilies

This shot was the result of some extreme weather. Late July when we had a heat wave, I, without thinking, grabbed my camera and went outside (from the air conditioning) to get some shots. The lens fogged up immediately with the humidity but I took some frames anyway. It provided this very soft focus effect and the dark vignetted edges.

Daylilies grow wild and cultivated everywhere in Southern Ontario. This is a view just north of London from the pioneer Southgate Cemetery looking east across Wonderland Road at Fourteen Mile Rd.

This pretty lily grows wild and cultivated all over Ontario.

The common Daylily, also called Tawny Daylily or Hemerocallis fulva, is native to Europe, China, Korea and Japan. This familiar, hardy flower is often mistaken as a native wildflower!
