Snow-Covered Spirea

A pretty garden view from last Sunday. All the snow we got then has melted and today is going to be sunny and 8°C (46°F). Our November weather is always a bit of a surprise!

Goldmound

My Goldmound Spirea - Spiraea bumalda - still has its flowers from last season creating visual interest. This is a great shrub with its light green leaves all season and large pink flower heads.

Gold Flame Spirea

New leaves on the Gold Flame Spirea are lit up by the late afternoon sun. Also called Spiraea japonica or Spiraea x bumalda 'Goldflame,' this shrub is one of the most colourful and hardy in my garden. In spring, its leaves emerge a bright red and fade to yellow for the summer.

Spirea in Snow

A Goldmound Spirea in my garden provides interest all year. Spring golden yellow foliage; summer filled with pink flowers; and fall bronze flower tops.
