Candleflame

This is a lichen named Candleflame that grows on a tree outside my work. Apparently, it is a sign of good air quality and it does not harm its host but enjoys a symbiotic relationship.

Covered

A dead branch, covered in lichen, lies at the side of the path at Medway Creek. The blues, greys and greens of the lichen attracted to me this scene.
