The Love Tree, more commonly known as the Eastern Redbud, is a native ornamental tree and one of the earliest in spring to flower. I took this last May at Medway Creek.

The pink flowers of the Begonia Panasoffkee , a hybrid begonia, stretch toward the light. This plant is very special to me as it was my mom’s. I have had it for seven years and it has never grown much until recently when I moved it to a brighter location. Now it is growing like crazy and has sent out many stalks of pretty pink flowers.

Close on a pink gladiolus flower. Gladiolus is from the Latin for 'sword' and they are sometimes called sword lilies. Native to sub-Saharan Africa, these perennial bulbous plants are extensively hybridized in a wide range of intense colours.

Canadian Redbud, Cercis canadensis, is a beautiful spring flowering tree native to North America. It is also known as Eastern Redbud, Judas Tree or Love Tree.
