A beautiful spring woodland flower, the Red Trillium, is a perennial plant and member of the lily family. It is known by many names, including: Indian Shamrock, Bumblebee Root, Wake-robin, purple trillium and American True-Love. Native to East and Northeast North America, the white Trillium is the Provincial floral symbol of Ontario.
An image that I took last spring, the White Trout Lily, Erythronium albidum, is a small woodland plant that blooms in early spring in much of North America. Also called Dog Toothed Violet, I can't wait to see some!
